A weep of Mother India

I know you from ages unknown…
And I shed my blood and green gown to water and shelter
Put mountain guards for your safety and security
Yes my child.. I am your mother.. And you are my own..

I made you all.. You are all my children beloved
The pain of all your births I embraced..
The nights of sufferings I endured..
Like a shell I preserved, the pristine pearl of mine you are..

I dreamed of days you grow up and build..
The days presaged and for waited..
When the suffering will never be heard..
Harmony prevailing to profundity..

You were happy those days, adorned and healthy
A gaze at the blossom made you grin
Never annoyed with the gate of your garters
Neither grim with the calls of companions

I remember the days, salvation came from skies
And the voice of wisdom in the air
The days I shared my secrets to you
The mystic truth of life and death..

You asked me about the sovereign one
I showed my finger to you deep within
You liked to see my creatures
The sun, the moon and the thunderstorm…

My son, you forgot those days
When the swans shared the message of love..?
Pouring like rain from full fledged fog..
The message of independence and fraternity…

Now, you are grown up and matured..
And time has changed your minds along..
Where you lost your peace halfway..?
The essence of life for its fullest…

What didn’t I give? What more my son?
Would have made you more happier?
Another sun or moon you wanted
Or an aged oracle for your guide..

See my son… What you have done?
Open your eyes of heart and see…
Open your eyes to see your mother naked..
And raped in public as prostitutes..

I gave you light, but you loved darkness…
Deep and depths of evil you abide..
Even the wombs you preserve
To the burgeoning of the devil..

Where are the values of life? I taught?
Where are the humane to call you human?
Where you bestowed your heart and soul
Far away from me and my nature

You discovered incantations of greed
And selfishness you nourish in whole
The madness of power and supremacy
Have fetched your eyes blinded..

Where are your brethren, your very own blood?
Whom you let die for your survival
How long will you make me impatient?
And turn my caring face to anger…

You thing I am a helpless mother?
A weeping Gandhari is what you expecting?
Who will do nothing except the
Endless tears pouring from eyes..

You have mistaken me, my son..
Never you tried to understand or empathize..
The same blessing mother I am
Can also be a destroyer of all…

I raised my warriors through ages…
Who fought with you for the day I dreamed..
Lest they destroyed, I bless they prosper..
And the eternal truth prevailed.

A weep of Mother India....
